Our Ilkeston self storage facility is all ground floor with a wide space to drive your vehicle directly inside the building and up to your storage unit.
We observed that other self storage services use external parking/loading, but we do not favour the “airport” style arrangement of having to incrementally move items from one place to another.
Parking your vehicle away from the unit and then moving your items from there to the unit using trolleys would be difficult or time consuming. Rather, we let you go right up to the unit door.
Due to the unpredictable British weather, there’s no risk of your belongings getting wet or blown away by strong winds. There’s no risk to computer equipment or paperwork being damaged because of a sudden downpour. Your valuables need protection and so we’ve designed our service with your needs in mind.
If you have heavy items that cannot be easily lifted, you are advised to bring your own wheeled dolly to get items into the unit. The floor of each unit is slightly raised above ground level so there is a slight lip.
The vehicle entrance is 3.6m wide by 3.5m high. So, what kind of vehicle is appropriate to drive into our building?

HGVs should be able to enter with no problem, but the location of the building itself would be awkward to back such a large vehicle into given the available space.
